Can I send a message to a short code number with 5 or 6 digits?

While TXT App Now is a great app for calls and texts, sending messages to short codes might not be possible.

Here's why:

  • Short code restrictions: Short codes (usually 5 or 6 digits) are special numbers used by businesses and organizations to receive messages from large numbers of people. These services often have restrictions on the types of numbers that can send messages to them.
  • TXT App Now limitations: Due to how TXT App Now functions (using a virtual number on a VoIP network), it might not be compatible with sending messages to short codes.

What can you do?

  • Try a different number: If sending a message to a short code is essential, you might need to use a different phone number, such as your mobile number, to send the message.
  • Contact the service: If you're unsure whether TXT App Now works for sending messages to a specific short code (like a company's SMS marketing number), it's best to contact their customer support directly. They can confirm if their service accepts messages from VoIP numbers.

Here are some additional points to consider:

  • TXT App Now excels at making free calls and sending texts between users on the app.
  • For specific services that require sending messages to short codes (like entering contests or receiving verification codes), using a traditional mobile number might be necessary.
